I've just done my first virtual job interview ever and got the job!! Didn't have to leave the house you can set it up to make you look really good. I made a few notes. The transparency question was unexpected but I answered it anyway.. I only had 15 minutes before to prepare. I kept as calm as I could. And thought they would be lucky to have me. I asked questions at the end. I listened carefully and smiled alot. There were afterwards alot of things i thought of i could have said. Interviews are always nerve racking and they make you feel a little silly. Always thorougly read the job specification and try and throw some key words into the conversation. They contacted me a day early to let me know. So just waiting for a start date.❤❤❤❤ fingers crossed.

New job. 3months in it. Still on probation so I'm very anxious. I also deal with money so it's the end-of-day reporting that gets me. I don't make the same mistakes but I do keep making stupid mistakes and it's frustrating. I just want to do well but I just seem to keep making them every day. This video helps. Thank you.

🤑I was nervous to ask this question. It was a final panel interview and I just did it. They were so impressed that I had had the confidence to ask. The person who I was interviewing to work directly for said, "Let me me be straight and lay the cards on the table... I want you on my team. Hands down." I was offered the job and later told by the district operations manager that the interview was incredible and if he had ever had any doubt, me asking that question as I did clinched it. I agree with you about looking at the resume for 6 seconds. I repeatedly have interviewers unprepared, and looking up my resume while in the interview with me. They often come dressed in sweatpants and a T-shirt while I have on the nicest clothes I have in my closet. I have to squirm through 4 interviews trying to come up with scenarios for every question. This process is too much, I don't know what is going on anymore. I think companies really need to only have 2-3 people interviewing for these positions. How is it fair to go a month and then get dismissed because you are 1 of 100 candidates being interviewed?

Another key reason why someone may hate their job are economic fears and fears of cuts. For example, over the last two months, my common law spouse who is earning great money as a Cleaner with support from her Community Employment provider is starting to hate her job due to possible funding cuts to Supported Employment providers and fears that she will lose her job or her hours will be scaled back. Sometimes, threats of funding cuts to government and supported employment programs will cause people to hate their jobs because they fear of getting less hours along with less money.

One time I was interviewed for a assistant store manager position and my recruiters slipped out that there has been five store managers in the past six months. Yikes! The flag was soooo red I didn't accept the offer.

Is being soft spoken a weakness? Is is not being shy but i fear that it is related to the role.

I cant think of anything for a weakness that the company doesnt need. It needs every skill.

@CassThompsanConsulting Ive been at one company/job for 7 years, which was the food industry. I want a career change to HR. I moved up the ladder to management within those 7 years as well. Do I break down my job experience by each role on my resume? Example, "Team Trainer 2012-2014, Manager 2015-2108"? Also Do I still utilize HR jargon in my work experience bullet points? I had a virtual interview today for a Sr. Admin Assistant position today. I watched this video and followed the advice the day before the interview. I was told by the hiring manager, she would reach out and let me know if I would move on in the hiring process by next Tuesday. I sent a thank you email today (same day as the interview) and the hiring manager responded to my email and scheduled me for a second virtual interview to meet the team. ❤

Asking someone for a weakness is such a stupid question because there is no good answer. Being opinionated is not a weakness at all. The inability to read the room and shut up is a weakness.

Totally! And it’s so important, too, to be vigilant. If the interviewer seems nervous and says they’re new, or says they’re filling in, you can ask “do you have specific insight on the role, or would it be smarter to save these questions for the manager?”

No matter what type of job normally we make mistakes. Even when being trained we make mistakes. The key is to explain your mistakes. Then listen to your supervisor related to mistakes. Longest it’s not losing money from a huge mistake. No one doesn’t want to make a mistake. Especially without documentation only signatures will still be a mistake. At the end of day, we learn from our mistake.
